The Cutting Edge
Advanced diagnostics for improved patient care.
- We will routinely send your pet’s lab work to the Reference Lab when results are not urgently needed. The Reference Lab is equipped with advanced cytology, comprehensive lab profiles, and specialized testing.
- We can bring in a specialized team to complete on-site ultrasounds and echocardiograms. We work board certified radiologists and cardiologists who send a comprehensive report that Dr. Hilden will review with you. We can also send x-rays to the radiology team for review.
- Concierge Referral to surgeons, oncologist, ophthalmologist, cardiologists, and 24-hour care facilities. This looks like your Caring Ways Team calling ahead, preparing the facilities for your arrival, being on standby to answer your questions and helping to guide you during an appointment and after, consulting with the Referral Team to provide the best care for your pet, and arranging follow-ups as needed.
- Ophthalmic Exam (Schirmer Tear Test, Fluorescein Eye Stain, Intraocular Pressure) These tests allow us to quickly diagnose a problem with your pet’s eye and provide you with the appropriate and safe medication, providing your pet with relief.
- In-house laboratory services, including a CBC, blood chemistry panel, and urinalysis to quickly diagnose your pet’s condition.
- Otic Exam (Ear Discharge Cytology) This test allows Dr. Hilden to evaluate your pet’s ear condition, diagnosing the problem, and provide the appropriate treatment.
- Cytology (Mass Cytology, Skin Cytology, Lesion Cytology, Urine Cytology) Dr. Hilden will obtain the sample she needs for evaluation. The team then prepares the cytology in our in-house lab and then Dr. Hilden evaluates the slide. She will review her findings with you and determine the best treatment course.

Radiology
For same day answers, your Caring Ways Team has on-site digital radiology. This in-house imaging allows Dr. Hilden to have immediate results, which she will review with you during your appointment time.
